Local Red: Through Collecting and Connecting

Local Red is a collaborative artistic research project by Behnaz Fazelian and Olga Kilpiäinen exploring the use of locally sourced wild clay from the Pirkanmaa region as a material for contemporary ceramic art. The project asks how clay from construction and excavation sites can be transformed into artworks. By working with clay taken directly from the ground, the project explores how the material carries traces of place, geological history, and human transformation of the landscape.
